Loan Repayment / Forgiveness Opportunities

  • Canada Student Loan Forgiveness: As a family doctor or resident in family medicine, you could receive up to $40,000 in Canada Student Loan forgiveness over a maximum of five years ($8,000 per year). To learn more, visit:
  • Alberta - NADC Medical Student Bursary: The Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC) provides return service bursaries to post-secondary students training for jobs that are in demand in northern Alberta. Some careers in high demand now include education, medical and health, engineering and technical fields and social work. Bursaries for medical students are $12,000. Annual application deadlines apply.
