Provincial Funding Checklist

 

Review the checklist below to ensure that you are able to secure provincial funding.

If you do not see your Province listed, please contact us for additional information.

Financial Aid Checklist (by Province):

Alberta (AB)

  1. Student completes their online application
  2. Student receives a Notice of Assessment from AB after their file is complete
  3. Student will need to submit their Confirmation of Registration form (COR) (received from AB) to the Office of Financial Aid before AB will release the funding
  4. Funding issued directly to student

PLEASE NOTE: IF AN AWARD IS MADE FROM ALBERTA WITH A WRONG PROGRAM TYPE OR LOAN PERIOD, THE OFFICE OF FINANCIAL AID WILL AMEND THE COR WHICH CAN RESULT IN A REDUCTION IN YOUR AWARD OR NO AWARD.

 

British Columbia (BC)

  1. Student completes their online application
  2. The Office of Financial Aid receives notification from BC to complete student's Appendix 3
  3. Student receives notification from BC that Appendix 3 has been completed
  4. Student receives a Notice of Assessment from BC after their file is complete
  5. Student will need to submit their Confirmation of Enrollment form (received from BC) to the Registrar's office before BC will release the funding
  6. Registrar's office will return confirmation to both BC and the student
  7. Funding issued directly to student

 

Manitoba (MB)

  1. Student completes their online application
  2. Student receives a Notice of Assessment from MB after their file is complete
  3. Manitoba will email student's  Confirmation of Enrollment directly to the Office of Financial Aid
  4. Completed Confirmation of Enrollment will be returned to MB and the student
  5. Funding issued directly to student

 

New Brunswick (NB)

  1. Student completes their online application
  2. Student receives a Notice of Assessment from NB after their file is complete
  3. National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) will mail a Confirmation of Enrollment form to the address the student has on file.  Student must submit this to the Office of Financial Aid
  4. Office of Financial Aid completes confirmation and returns it to NSLSC and emails a student copy to student
  5. Funding issued directly to student

 

Newfoundland and Labrador (NL)

  1. Student completes their online application
  2. Student will need to submit a Program Cost Form (PCF) to the Office of Financial Aid for completion
  3. Student will receive a notice of Assessment from NL when their file is complete
  4. PCF is completed and faxed to NL; copy emailed to student
  5. Confirmation of Enrolment will be sent directly to the address the student has on file
  6. Student must submit confirmation to Office of Financial Aid
  7. Office of Financial Aid will return confirmation to both NL and the student
  8. Funds issued directly to student

 

Nova Scotia (NS)

  1. Student completes their online application
  2. Student will receive a Notice of Assessment from NS when their file is complete
  3. Student will need to submit their Confirmation of Registration form (received from NS) to the Office of Financial Aid before NS will release the funding
  4. The Office of Financial Aid will return confirmation to both NS and the student
  5. Funds issued directly to student

 

 Ontario – OSAP

  1. Student completes their online application
  2. Student will need to submit their Program Information Form (PIF) to the Office of Financial Aid after completing their application
  3. Student will receive a student copy of their PIF from the Office of Financial Aid after it has been completed.  The student MUST upload it directly to OSAP their webportal.
  4. Student receives a Notice of Assessment from OSAP after their file is complete
  5. Student will need to submit their Confirmation of Enrollment form (received from OSAP) to the Registrar's office
  6. School returns the form to OSAP
  7. SGU Office of the Registrar will return confirmation to both OSAP and the student
  8. Funds issued directly to student

 

Saskatchewan (SK)

  1. Student completes their online application
  2. Student will need to submit their Program Information Form (PIF) to the Office of Financial Aid after completing their application
  3. The Office of Financial Aid will email a copy of the PIF to both SK and the student after it has been completed
  4. Student will receive a Notice of Assessment from SK when their file is complete
  5. Student will be mailed a Confirmation of Enrollment form to the address the student has on file with SK.  Student must submit this to the Office of Financial Aid
  6. The Office of Financial Aid will return confirmation to both SK and the student
  7. Funds issued directly to student

 

Note: Your Province will only make a financial award offer when your file is complete and Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement (MSFAA) and other required documents have been received.
